Happy Nowruz everybody! The new year was at 2 am and I stayed up taking pictures !
So this is an Iranian tradition we do for Nowruz , sth like the Christmas tree that the English have!
It has to have 7 things, that come from the nature, starting with (s) sound. In Persian we call that letter "seen" (س). That's why we call it "7-seen". But I really can't translate that "seen" into English .
So first we have the holy Quran in it which is very essential.you can see it in the middle . We put some money between the pages and when the guests come, we take out one and give it to the children. We do this so that the money comes with felicity
.on the right we have (1) apple (seeb in Persian) which is a symbol of beauty and health
The next one is (2) coins ( sekke) well it doesn't come from nature but we put it because it's a symbol of wealth.
Next we have(3) sumac ( somagh) it's a symbol of patience
In the middle we have (4) Hyacinth ( sonbol) a symbol of happiness
On the left we have (5)sea-buckthorn ( senjed) a symbol of love
Next we've got (6) the juice of germinating wheat ( samanoo) a symbol of power
And finally we have (7) garlic ( seer) the symbol of health and vibrancy
